About the Science and Health Living-Learning Community
The Science and Health Living-Learning Community is housed in Earle Hall, one of two residence halls comprising East Village. It is home to approximately 350 male and female residents and is a place where students can engage in learning outside of the classroom in a professionally focused community. Students with a common interest in pursuing a career in medicine will be able to collaborate with each other as well as science faculty and medical researchers, allowing them to develop the skills and background to become true medical scholars and future leaders in the healthcare professions. With the location of the Baylor Science Building in close proximity to the East Village facilities, the faculty from the sciences and the prehealth programs will be able to engage and support the academic efforts of the students in this LLC. The Science and Health LLC creates opportunities for students to explore a career path in medicine through research, service leadership experiences, and unique curricular experiences. A residence hall director, graduate resident chaplain, faculty-in-residence, and a team of student community leaders live within the community. Academic partners, including a program director from the Office of Prehealth Studies, office at the hall to provide support and create connections with residents.
