The Office of Prehealth Studies has professional advisors to assist current Baylor University prehealth students with selecting coursework that is appropriate to their intended prehealth track. Our advisors will also provide guidance regarding course load, academic progress, professional development, and information on majors, minors, and careers.
Students who are designated prehealth are strongly encouraged to work with a prehealth advisor before registering for classes, particularly in the Sophomore and Junior years.
Prehealth Canvas
Students with a Prehealth designation will be added to the Prehealth Canvas page where they can find inforamtion about upcoming events, useful resources, and advising materials. If you are not able to access the Canvas page, email prehealth@baylor.edu.
Ask PreHealth
AskPrehealth is online advising that takes place weekly via Zoom. No appointment is necessary. We strongly encourage Ask Prehealth and it is your best resource for getting your advising questions answered by one of our Advisors. More information is available on the Prehealth Canvas and Instagram, or by contacting the prehealth office. Zoom links can be found on the Prehealth Canvas.
Who should see a prehealth advisor?
Any current Baylor University student with one of the following designations: Premedicine, Predentistry, Prephysician Assistant, Preoptometry, Prepharmacy, Preveterinary Medicine, Prephysical Therapy, & Preoccupational Therapy should attend a Medical Professions Workshop and/or an AskPrehealth session BEFORE requesting a one-on-one meeting with one of our advisors. Prehealth advisors do not evaluate transcripts or Degree Audits. Students are strongly urged to become acquainted with our office staff before requesting professional school application assistance from the Office of Prehealth Studies.
PREMEDICAL AND PREDENTAL DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS
What about prospective students who want to meet individually with a prehealth advisor?
We understand the need to connect with our office during your college search. Though we cannot offer individual one-on-one appointments, we do offer group presentations with our Prehealth Ambassadors. Presentations are held Mondays-Fridays at set times. Prospective students can sign up for these presentations through Campus Visits by clicking HERE.
