Immerse yourself in the world of clinical medical research with our undergraduate seminar designed for premedical students aspiring to explore the intersection of medicine and research. In this course, students will delve into the fundamentals of clinical research methodologies, while actively engaging in a semester-long research project under the guidance and supervision of experienced medical professionals.
Throughout the semester, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the research process, from formulating research questions and designing studies to collecting data, analyzing results, and drawing evidence-based conclusions. Emphasis will be placed on the ethical considerations, regulatory requirements, and best practices associated with conducting research involving human subjects.
Enrollment in this course is by application only. Prehealth students with a GPA of a 3.5 and higher will be sent an invitation to apply each semester. This is a great option for sophomore and junior students eager to get engaged in medical research.

In this course you will explore the variety of clinical medical specialties that will provides students with a comprehensive overview of the wide array of medical disciplines practiced in the United States, allowing them to gain insights into the unique roles, responsibilities, and challenges associated with each specialty.
Throughout this engaging and interactive course, students will have the opportunity to delve into various clinical specialties, from primary care to surgical subspecialties, gaining valuable insights into the breadth and depth of medical practice. Through select readings, discussions, guest speakers (who are alumni of Baylor), and experiential learning activities, students will explore the following key aspects of clinical medical specialties.
This is a great course for 2nd semester freshmen and sophomore students that have already taken PHP – 1105. It is a great course to further explore your interest in medicine and discover the many opportunities that await in the medical profession.
This course is linked to the Healthcare Leadership Fellows Programs. Students in this class will engage in a series of discussions about the challenges in healthcare and discuss strategies that will allow for better care and access for patients in the future. The course is led by medical leaders and will be a launching point for future leadership projects and curriculum that will allow you to develop the leadership skills to have great impact in your future medical practice.

This class will prepare students to be successful in their future medical school and graduate school applications. Plus, it will discuss strategies that allow for students to attain shadowing and undergraduate research opportunities.
This course is designed for sophomore and junior prehealth students. Students to take PHP 2105 will be given preference in their applications for the Prehealth Shadowing Program (BU-MMP) and the Prehealth Research Scholars and Healthcare Leadership Fellows Programs.
Pre-health students in this chapel experience will explore the ways in which faith perspectivesand spiritual practices form and prepare future healthcare professionals to deal with the challenges they will face. Each week will include talks and discussions that will emphasizethe importance of healthy spiritual life andencourage the development of helpful practices early in one's career in the medical world.
